8. Is Great Britain a Republic or a Monarchy?

Great Britian(UK) is a parlamentary democracy with a constitutional Monarch as Head of State.
The principe behind British democracy is that the poeple elect Members of Parlament(MPs) to the House of Commons in London at a general election, held no more than five yars apart. Most MPs belons to a policial party, and the party with the largest number of MPs in the House of Commons forms governament.

Parliament is made up of three parts:

1.The Queen
2.The House of Lords
3.The house of Commons

Unit 1 Our town:

Alex and Becky are friends. They live in Oxford.Alex's cousin visits them. They meet him in the bus station. They show him the city, but Alex's cousin says is not a good city. He says that there isn't an airport!!! Alex's cousin likes music shops , and internet cafés, but they finally go shopping. Alex's cousin says it's very boring.After that they go shopping. Becky likes a black T-shirt, but it costs 10 pounds and she has only 5 pounds. Steven gives her 5 pounds.
